The annual CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved events to show solidarity with those affected by cancer. The annual Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved events to show solidarity with those affected by cancer.

Losing your hair is a common side effect of cancer therapy and shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support. The 13th annual Shavathon was held on Saturday 27 February 2016 at shopping centres, work places and organisations across South Africa.

Emthunzini Hats fully supports the CANSA Shavathon as it helps create awareness about cancer, particularly skin cancer, and support those affected by it.

Ultraviolet Protection Factor 50+ CANSA Endorsed Hats

Most of our sunhats [link to home page] carry the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Seal of Recognition (CSOR) which means that they offer UPF50+ sun protection.

UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is a numerical rating given to clothing to indicate how effectively the fabric blocks ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The highest UPF rating a garment can be assigned is UPF50+.

Be sun wise and sun smart. Protect yourselves from the harmful rays of the sun throughout the year.
