Our hats come with either an inner drawstring or our unique Comfy-Fit elastic clip to adjust the size. Selected styles have both an internal and an external adjustment — simply adjust the chinstrap so it sits comfortably under your chin.
How to measure your head
All you need is a soft tape measure, ribbon or string
- Place the tape, ribbon or string around your head, just above your ears and about mid-forehead.
- Hold it firmly, but not too tight — it should feel the way you want the hat to feel.
- Mark the tape with a pencil to read your size.
- Using ribbon or string? Tie a small knot and measure the length in cm.
Which size should I choose?
Women
Most women's hats are 58 cm. For smaller heads and young ladies we have two petite styles at 55 cm: the Petite Gilly and the Petite Breton.
Men
Men's hats are generally 61 cm or 63 cm. Some men wear a 58 cm style — it depends on your preference and how the hat feels on your head.
In between sizes?
Round up to the next size. You are guaranteed a comfortable fit and can simply adjust the hat if needed.

Find Your Perfect Fit! Use a soft measuring tape to measure around your head, just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead. Keep the tape snug but comfortable, and measure in centimetres. Between sizes? We recommend choosing the larger size for a more comfortable fit.

A lovely neutral colour, beautifully made and well packaged. The internal band adjuster helps as I have a smaller head. It would be great if there were smaller adult sizes like a 55/56cm, but overall I’m happy, thank you.
Love this hat! It looks great, and it has a lovely wide brim to keep sun off. Just throw it in my luggage too and it pops back into shape on the other side. What a win!

I really needed a good sunhat for health reasons, as I spend time in the sun walking or watching my grandchildren on the sports fields.
